Professional Updates

I have a Trello now! I need to update a few things, but this way people won't have to wait for blog posts to see exactly where their story is in the process. If you have any questions about which one is your story, please feel free to message me and I'll let you know. I'm adding the link to the sidebar on here, but you can find it here as well!

I really want to get my Ko-fi started, but I don't have any icons for the shop x.x I have a friend who's willing to trade me for a short story or three, but I haven't figured out what I want the icons to be yet. Just stylized words of what is being sold (Short Stories, Long Stories, Tarot Reading, etc)? Stylized first letter of the name of the item being sold (SS, LS, TR, etc)? Something more sky-themed? A single icon for everything? Please feel free to message or email me with ideas!

I have a bunch of stories planned out for the Ko-fi store itself and a few that I started writing during my break from commissions. Quite a bit unfinished still, but a few that are done. So there's that to look forward to.

Also, I won a writing contest! It's with a story called Social Distancing and is getting a free illustration from a truly talented artist. I've gotten the lines recently and I'm more excited now than ever over it all! It will be available in my Ko-fi store, along with its partner, Long Distance Relationship. Once I get the money to spend, I might art for the second story, as well! I'm also turning the whole shebang into a series, but I'll take my time on said series so that I don't fall any further behind on commissions, promise!

I might have to wait until after I get back to get this blog back on track. I'm honestly sorry about that, since I know there have been a few writers who have offered a great piece of work to display, and thank you for all your patience.

Status Update

There's not too much to update on at the moment. I'm going to tackle Stockings tomorrow with a hard goal of finishing the first draft by Friday, soft goal of having it edited enough to send to the commissioner. 

I'll try working on writing The Potion and editing Stockings while on the trip, but I can't make any promises. There are just too many unknown variables at work. We'll be back the third week of July, but we're definitely going to need time to settle back in before I go back into writing. I should be able to start up again first week of August, though.

So far I have:

Completed - 10 stories

Writing - 2 stories lined up

Paid Commissions - 2 stories to write

Unpaid Commissions - 3 stories (potentially more, need client to secure ideas)

Personal Update

So here's the skinny. Last month we learned that my mil and sil have cancer, the former stage 4 in various parts of her body and the latter stage 3 in her bones. My mil has never met her granddaughter, and my sil hasn't seen her since she was born. So we're going to be gone for most of July. My mil has had high swings and low swings for craziness (I mean, actually something wrong with her- she tried to run over my partner when he was little), so this is mostly for my partner and our daughter. I'm hoping I won't need to, but I'm prepared to be their advocate while we visit.

Besides all that, I went through a personal low swing awhile back ago that came out of nowhere and have only recently recovered from it. It's why I've been struggling so much with the last two shorter commissions. I have to admit, winning the writing contest has helped a ton with that XD

Kiddo's growth has been insane lately. It's a struggle to keep up with what she can and can't reach, especially now that she's learned to use a step stool. She says new words every day, though will never do it on command. Her problem solving skills have made it a challenge to keep her from getting into things she shouldn't be into, but we're keeping our head about water. This will be her first plane trip, so I'm more than a little nervous. Trying to go into it as prepared as possible though.

Grab Bag Friday: Updates Updates Updates

 First I want to apologize for not keeping this blog up-to-date. March was a crazy month for me and April isn't proving to be much better. I'm hoping to be back on track before this month is over, though.

Current Events: I'm editing two stories that work in tandem as a his perspective/her perspective (Social Distancing and Long Distance Relationship). One is going to a writing contest and the other to a Call for Submission. They're proving trickier to edit than I hoped, but I'm still making headway and, honestly, they were a lot of fun. If it goes well enough, there might be a new commission option once I open again.

Plans for the Month: I want to finish editing the set of stories and get them sent to beta readers before the end of next week. I'll also finish writing up Toy Maestro for a Call for Submission and make a decision on whether or not to continue pursuing The Glitch (I'm just not feeling it, for some reason x.x). 

The following week I'll be juggling a few things: I want to edit Toy Maestro so it can be sent to my betas, revise Social/Long Distance so they're set, and review The Willow, The Collar, and Guilty Pleasure to see if they can be cleaned up enough to be entered into the contest. 

The following week, I want to finish revisions on Toy Maestro, get the contest entries sent in, and start pouring my focus into Ko-fi, the shop, subscription rewards, and hopefully a few goodies for opening day. I hope to be able to work on things for Ko-fi on again off again throughout the month, but I will be pouring my focus into it in these final weeks so I'll have things worth purchasing and subscribing for when I open up.

Grab Bag Friday: Celebratory News!

  Hello my dears. As you might have guessed, commissions aren't moving much this month due to everything that's been happening and the need to focus on other things for a bit. I do have some exciting news though!

Once I reach 1000 Followers on Twitter, I'm going to get the Gold membership for Ko-fi and plan to have it active by the time I reach 1100 Followers! This means a few new offers for you! These are just rough ideas for now (so be gentle). The final version with have more engaging titles and better descriptions.

The Shop - No strings attached, these are one time purchases that require no subscription. In no particular order, here are some offerings I have in mind:

1. Gift certificates / Coupons with codes that you can save for a lonely day or gift to someone else. This will start strictly for commissions until I can figure out how they can be used in the shop.

2. Individual stories with short descriptors so you’ll have an idea of what you’re purchasing. Pre-commissioned work will go for less while original work from my own imaginings will go for a bit more.

3. Individual dark and twisted stories, complete with tags. Same as above, except these are rabbit holes I don’t usually go down and take more courage for me, so they’ll cost a bit more.

4. Character AMAs that can be bought with the stories the characters are in. You’ll get to send in a set number of questions you’d like to see answered, and get the replies to them. I’ll eventually include pre-generated packs that won’t cost as much.

5. Collections of stories with similar themes, for your pleasure. It’ll take awhile for me to get a large enough library though.

6. Flash fiction and poetry from Twitter, all collected in one place, x- pieces at a time. I’ll do my best to group these by theme.

7. Commission slots (of course). 

8. If the test reads go well, I’ll also have a few different types of tarot readings you can purchase for you or your characters.

Monthly Subscribers - There will be different tiers available. I’m still working out what rewards will fall under which tier, but some of the things you’ll have to look forward to in no particular order are: 

1. Suggestions and requests for what I’ll work on next. This will include stories, scenes, character amas, commission themes, and writing sprint subjects.

2. Director’s cut of some of my stories that were otherwise cut down for wordcount, commissioner tastes, or to better keep on topic. Some will include extended erotica, others extended descriptions of more mundane things.

3. Singular scenes that I needed to exorcise from my brain. Some will involve minimal background or character development so I can go straight to the heart of it all.

4. Full access to my dark and twisted stories. You’ll see them as I finish them.

5. Full access to all Character AMAs, as well as a set period of time when you can send in your questions and the chosen character will answer them.

6. The occasional giveaway when I have the time and energy to give back to you lovely supporters. Prizes will range from a personalized thank you note from me or one of your favorite characters to free tarot readings to free stories.

7. Discounts for my commission slots that will apply for however long you’re a subscriber.

8. Early access to commission slots and sales. I intend for these to be limited, so in some cases there might not be much getting past subscribers.

9. Coupons for one-shot discounts with codes that can be kept for a lonely day or gifted to someone else.

10. Commission slots specifically for dark and twisted stories. Though slots will be limited and far between, they will ONLY be available to subscribers.

Important News for March: Possible Hiatus...ses? Hiatusi?

 Hey everyone! I just want to let you know that March is going to be a bit rocky for me.

1. My dad will be visiting March 2nd - March 16th. It turns out he exercises at the same time I write (happy coincidence), so it's possible this will actually motivate me to write more consistently.
   
   
2. I've been officially called in for jury duty. It could potentially last as long as the entire time my dad is visiting. 
   
   
3. There's a competition in March in one of the writing groups I'm a part of. It's a small group, so the prize is just some free art. I still want to give it a try though to see how well I do.
   
   
4. There's a call for submissions that I'm obligated to send in a story for. Nothing might come of it, but I at least need to fulfill my part of things.
   
   
5. Quite frankly, I'm nearing burn-out. It's my own fault for not sticking to a limited number of slots. If the competition and call for submission aren't enough to reset my headspace, then I'll need time to focus on a personal project or two. Yes, it's needed. The last time I went full burn-out, it was a few years before I worked on a commission, and I'd like to avoid that.

I fully intend to get back to commissions by the first week of April. I'll be certain to let everyone know if this changes. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding as I work through this.

Writer's Spotlight Delayed

 Unfortunately, life sometimes gets in the way. I have always preferred quality over speed, so Part 2 of Monster Pirate Whores will be posted next week. For now, look forward to another From the Archives tomorrow and AI Love's special interview on Friday. The latter will include some of the kinks included in her story and some insight to what might have led to them, so it should be an intriguing read.

New Commission Types

The following commission types haven't been offered before. I might or might not offer a steep discount while official commissions are closed to get an idea of how to price them. Keep an eye out for offers in a new blog post, or follow me on Twitter @EroticMorsel.

Letter Sets: TBD

A set of "letters" addressed to one of your characters from a character either of your making or mine. The set can be delivered all at once or one at a time. If the latter, you can opt to reply to each or some of the letters. I need to get an idea of how this could work, so will need to do a few different options before setting any solid prices.

Timed Writing: TBD

For a set amount of time, I do nothing but write the story you want, and you get what it is once the timer goes off. This time won't include planning (and there will be more than usual so I can continually write) or light editing after. It's a bit of a gamble, so I'm going to try doing a few before settling on a price for this.

If I can get at least $30.00 USD starting with when I post this, I will use it to purchase a tarot deck. After I get the chance to become familiar with it, anyone who has tipped or commissioned me at any time will be entered into a raffle to have a free tarot reading via Twitch!

This will give me the opportunity to not alone get an even better feel for the deck, but to see how well long distance readings will work for me. I'll probably do this a few times before setting an official price on the readings. Since I'm temporarily closing new commissions starting January 1st, now will be the time to take full advantage of the big Christmas Sale and get in on this opportunity!

I want to showcase your work!

Wordcount is preferably 500-20k words, though it's okay if it's under or a bit over. Just note that if it's over 10k words, it will have to be a multi-part story, each part shared every other week. So please plan on a cutoff every 10k words.

This can be an excerpt from your book or WIP, or a short story you have already written or wrote specifically for the blog. 

No copyright characters, pedophilia, or scat please. Any other questionable subjects, just ask!

I will copy-edit the work for simple grammatical errors such as misspelled words. If you absolutely do not want this done, please let me know ahead of time.

Once you contact me with interest using the information at the bottom of this post, I will add you to a special list and contact you when you're up next. At the point of contact, you will have 10 days to send me your work unless we agree to a different deadline ahead of time. If you're not able to get your work in before the deadline, please let me know as soon as you're able. I understand life happens.

Please include any applicable links, such as to your books, blog, website, and/or Twitter handle. Remember, this is to show off what you can do, so it'll be good for interested readers to know where they can find you and more of your work!
